Laser Engraver - low cost and easy build

After numerous design iterations, I settled on a final version and constructed a laser engraver based on it. Feel free to modify anything to suit your materials. The shared CAD model is available in Solidworks format on GrabCAD at https://grabcad.com/library/laser-engraver-easy-low-cost-build-1. All parts were manufactured using a CNC milling machine, but they can also be 3D printed. To learn how to mill and assemble the mechanical components of the machine, watch this video: https://youtu.be/YSMUuQCYebM. For instructions on wiring the engraver, visit this link: https://youtu.be/3B-gDhZBfmo. The machine was built using simple materials such as aluminum square tubes, MDF board, bolts, and nuts - all easily obtainable at a hardware store. The size of the machine can be adjusted according to the length of the aluminum tubes used. Linear bearings were created from skateboard components: https://youtu.be/oMk8-tTqmg8. Despite using low-cost materials, the machine is surprisingly sturdy and moves smoothly in all axes. Happy engraving!
