Laser Engraver Bed and Laser Holder

Laser Engraver Bed and Laser Holder

thingiverse

I purchased a small laser engraver that came with a laser holder and a compact acrylic bed made from a simple sheet of material. The user must attach these components to the CD/DVD mechanism using hot melting glue.\nThe setup works, but it's not an elegant solution. So I designed replacements in OpenSCAD:\nA single-piece bed\nA support for a standard aluminum laser holder\nA printable version of the laser holder\nThe bed and laser holder support are designed to be placed over the original CD/DVD mechanism. In my model, there are two adjacent rectangular magnets (check out the pictures).\nThe bed and holder must fit snugly over these square magnets.\nA small 10mmx3mm round magnet can be inserted in the central slot of the bed and the holder to improve their alignment (note the magnetic polarity!).\nWhen you make one of these, ensure that you verify the dimensions of your CD/DVD mechanisms.\nThe parameters in the OpenSCAD files are well-commented.\nUpdate 2016-11-25:\nI added a feet generator for Acrylic Mini Laser versions\nI included pictures of a magnetic tape covered bed\n\nPrint Settings\nPrinter: \n CTC Bizer Dual Black\n \n Rafts: \n No\n \n Supports: \n No\n \n Resolution: \n 0.2mm\n \n Infill: \n 20%
