Laser Engraver Bed and Laser Holder
pinshape
The small laser engraver I have was sold with a couple of handy accessories, including a laser holder and a compact acrylic bed made from a straightforward sheet. To get them to stick together properly, you need to use some hot melting glue on the CD/DVD mechanism. It actually works quite well, but the solution isn't exactly the most elegant one. So I came up with a replacement design in OpenSCAD: A single-piece bed A support for a standard aluminium laser holder A printable version of the laser holder The new bed and laser holder support are designed to be placed over the original CD/DVD mechanism. In my model, there are two flat rectangular magnets (check out the pictures). These bed and holder should fit snugly over the square magnets. A small 10mmx3mm round magnet can be inserted into the central slot of the bed and the holder to improve their alignment (make sure to check the magnetic polarity!). When you make one of these, double-check the dimensions of your CD/DVD mechanisms. The parameters in the OpenSCAD files are all well-commented. Update 2016-11-25: I've added a feet generator for Acrylic Mini Laser versions I've included some pictures of a bed covered with magnetic tape Print Settings: Printer: CTC Bizer Dual Black Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 20%
