Laser Door Knob

Photo on printbed shows previous version without reinforcement. While waiting for delivery guy with our Makerspace's laser cutter, made fancy two-color knob for door leading to machine. Initially designed on whim, ended up being very sturdy after slight alterations and thought I'd share model with you! No dual extrusion required, but two M5 nuts and bolts - enjoy! Print Settings Printer Brand: Ultimaker Printer: Ultimaker 2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.3 mm Infill: 40 % Notes: Switched color from yellow to black mid-print to recreate look of laser warning sign. With machine and filament you are comfortable with, this is pretty easy! X3D file with color information is also included in case someone has dual extrusion. Post-Printing Nuts & Bolts Two M5 nuts that will just fit into recesses in base (heat them with soldering iron if it is a little tight) and two M5 bolts going through door from inside are required in addition to printed part. Make sure bolts are long enough, ended up sinking mine quite a bit into door... How I Designed This Designed with Tinkercad based on approx. measurements of salt shaker that felt right and imported SVG sketch of laser warning symbol. Lack of chamfer around base is little annoying, if knob ever breaks or someone asks nicely will get back to working on this...
