To measure your laser cutter's kerf without a caliper, follow these steps: first, cut the provided file with the desired material, speed, and power settings. Then, drop the gauge through one of the holes in the tab. When the gauge is stuck, read the label above the tab for the kerf measurement. The gauge's width, which is stepped starting from the hole size, is 4 times the actual kerf. This method was made by i3 Detroit.
