Laser cut Tie Interceptor
thingiverse
A Tie Interceptor model has been creatively designed by reworking Breakfastsandwich's impressive Tie Fighter design. Kudos to him for such inspiring models! Arild Ness made a detailed instruction manual available in the Files section as a PDF, while trinityscsp created an animated instruction on Grabcad (link: https://grabcad.com/library/laser-cut-tie-interceptor-wooden-toy-1). The model's popularity brings joy to the creator. This 3.2mm MDF model was cut using an Epilog laser cutter, with DraftSight panels reworked and Inkscape used for an .svg file. The files include .dwg, .dxf, and .svg formats of the original drawing. The parts fit on a single 60x40cm MDF sheet, with a honeycomb pattern etched separately before cutting. Assembly is similar to Breakfastsandwich's Tie Fighter until page 8 of its instructions, with additional struts for stability in the Interceptor panels. Instructions aren't provided but use pictures as reference and do a dry run before gluing.
