Instructions To Build the Laser Cut Enterprise, follow these steps: Gather materials first, they include: a laser cutter or access to one, 1 piece of 1/8 inch plywood, 20 x 30 inches, 1 roll of black vinyl (self-adhesive), a credit card or similar, glue gun and glue sticks, 1 small block of wood for mounting, a craft knife and/or utility blade with extra blades. Begin by applying the black vinyl to the back side of the plywood using your credit card, work out air bubbles as you go. After that, place the wood block at one end and cut along this line so it will fit inside, make sure it fits exactly, you don't want gaps anywhere. Now apply glue in any exposed spots with a glue gun. After that attach small wooden screws through the predrilled holes. Attach the 5 pieces of plywood together making an L shape, secure these to each other with wood glue and screws if needed. Begin laser cutting out all your parts from cardstock. You will get five sets. Make sure the corners are accurate as the entire project rides on their precision. If a part doesn't turn out correct simply redraw and print that set. Once you're ready cut it with your craft knife carefully until it is 1/16th inch thick. Do the same with all the parts.
