Laser Cut Robot Kit - based off Pee Wee Rover
thingiverse
Based on the Pee Wee rover kit, I designed a similar kit with servo mounts that can be easily added for extra functionality beyond just driving around. The design is slightly different in size from the original, but it's still a great starting point. The idea came to me after we gave out Pee Wee kits at the HeatSync Labs Nodebots Day event! It was a lot of fun and really sparked some creativity among attendees. Using the Johnny-Five plugin for Octoblu, you can create a project that connects to the web easily using a standard Arduino board. I even made a quick demo video showing it in action - check it out here! If you're interested in learning more about how to connect this project to the web, keep an eye on hackster.io/octoblu for a tutorial coming soon. To get started, you'll need the following components: * Motors: These geared plastic motors with wheels are perfect for the job - grab them from Amazon here. * Arduino Uno-style board that supports Firmata firmware * Pololu Motor Driver - this one's essential for smooth motor control * Battery Pack - don't forget to get a reliable power source Now, let's get building! Here's what you need to do: 1. Head over to Octoblu and sign up for an account at app.octoblu.com. 2. Install Firmata on your Arduino board and plug it into the computer running Gateblu. 3. From the device details page, install the Johnny-Five plugin from app.octoblu.com. 4. Configure your board to work with Octoblu - this is where the magic happens! 5. Build a flow to control your robot - the possibilities are endless!
