Laser-cut Reed Case

Laser-cut Reed Case

thingiverse

I designed a small box to hold reeds for woodwind instruments. It appears to safeguard our standard reeds effectively, but I'm unsure if it's suitable for high-end reeds due to their higher value. The project was cut from 3mm clear acrylic, and increasing the power slightly might be beneficial as the side walls are very thin and fragile. Fortunately, it managed to cut through entirely, allowing the panels to fall out instead of needing to be snapped off. You'll need to smooth a chamfer onto the front lower edge of the top panel, which makes contact with the reed and keeps it in place. Attached files include .ai and .eps formats.
