Laser Cut Pieces for STEMFIE rubber-band-driven car
thingiverse
I noticed several pieces on the STEMFIE rubberband car can be cut out with a laser instead of being 3D printed. In my setup, this saved me between 1.5 and two hours of printing time. The original files call for material that is 3.125 mm thick, but I've had decent results with content ranging in thickness from 2.9 to 3.1 mm. As the number of parts available for this system grows more substantial, this may or may not become an issue. For the best results, I recommend using 3mm acrylic. I have also included an STL with all of the remaining parts that you still need to 3D print in order to make the model.
