This is an alternative version of Jennifer Schachter's Laser Cut Maker Puzzle, built with Adam Savage for Tested.com's SXSW 2017 Scavenger Hunt. [Details and original engraving/cutting/assembly tips at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2240542.] This puzzle is still a work in progress, aiming to make the cutting process easier on laser cutters like those found at the Johnson County Library MakerSpace or any other machine that can handle color-mapped designs. Some files have been tested on our laser cutters with chipboard, and so far everything looks great. I'll continue testing the designs and let you know what I find - but don't be afraid to test them out yourself and share your results! Color-mapping settings: * Raster engrave (blue) - Speed 100 Power 50 Frequency 500 * Vector engrave (green) - Speed 100 Power 3 Frequency 500 * Vector cut (red) - Speed 100 Power 70 Frequency 500 History: 06/19/2017: All the pieces have been tested and corrected if needed. It's time to laser away. 04/28/2017: Time for a change of pace! The files have been moved to the JocoLibrary Thingiverse account. 04/28/2017: Another round of files is here! Vector engrave lines and cutting lines have been resized to 0.001" lines for hairlines in Corel Draw, and .emf files have been added for importing into Corel Draw. 04/23/2017: The puzzle pieces are now distributed on separate layers, and vector engraves have been switched where relevant.
