I'm excited to share my take on the laser cut living hinge phone stand, which has undergone numerous iterations and design refinements. You can see that it has grown in size, allowing for more flexibility in the hinges. Additional slots have been added to make the entire mechanism even more flexible. Cutouts in the stand provide extra support for the base shelf, while props crafted from waste materials help stabilize the structure. To simplify the assembly process, I've reduced the number of main prop location slots (which weren't making a noticeable difference in the stand's angle). The base shelf has been reversed to create a cradle-like design for the phone. For this project, I used high-quality 3mm birch plywood suitable for laser cutting. It's worth noting that you may need to adjust the size of the square prop holes to accommodate the actual thickness of your materials. When assembling the shelf supports, be mindful of the hinges' limitations and avoid bending them further than necessary to prevent any damage.
