Laser cut leather watch band / strap with lining, pre-cut stitching holes and engraved groove
thingiverse
This is a design for a laser cut watch band. I used leather, but it can work on thick fabric too. A laser cutting machine makes precise cuts easier to achieve on the sides, holes, and other details. The design includes pre-cut stitching holes, an engraved groove for stitching, and a lining. This helps create a neat stitch and makes the project straightforward: cut, glue, sew into existing holes, and you're done! You'll need both files for this project: one is the actual watch band, and the other is the lining. Material: I suggest using 1mm or less thick leather for the watch band and very thin leather (0.2-0.5mm) for the lining. Two needles with round tips and thick thread (at least 0.5mm thick, linen or synthetic, waxed if possible) are also required. Use the "saddle stitch" technique to sew it. Instructions: Sewing and/or gluing are necessary. This design consists of four parts: part 1 has the buckle, part 2 has holes for the buckle pin, part 3 is the lining for part 1, and part 4 is the lining for part 2. Fold each part over itself, then add the lining, ensuring the holes match. Finally, sew it (see photos). If needed, a full tutorial with detailed instructions will be uploaded.
