Laser Cut Lake Tahoe

I designed this project as an engineering challenge at school. I worked closely with my group for a month to bring this idea to life. We utilized Fusion 360 and primarily the spline tool to accurately map out each layer of Lake Tahoe. The end result was impressive, and we created two distinct models. One model featured wood, while the other used cardboard. To give the lake some color, we applied paint, and a clear coat was sprayed on to achieve a shiny finish. Additionally, we applied wood stain to the top layer to create striking contrast between the water and land. The best part about this project is its customizability: - You can cut as many or as few layers as you desire - You can craft it from various materials - You can make it any size you like - You can add different land/water features, such as the Nevada-California border, forests, lakes, streets, and water depth
