I crafted a highly compact sheet with the drive pin replaced by a square bar, resulting in an exceptionally smooth operation. Therefore, only two short pieces of 1/8" dowels are required. To secure the drive wheel to the crank without using glue, I utilized the square pins and hexagon spacers effectively. These components work perfectly together, ensuring a precise fit. Additionally, there are some extra pieces available in slightly different sizes for a snugger fit or in case of any loss during assembly.
