Laser cut fidget spinner
prusaprinters

I wanted a hand spinner but I was looking for a much smoother surface than the standard 3D printed ones. Acrylic seemed the best fit but there aren't many templates out there for a laser cut spinner. Converting from STL to SVG with Slic3r leaves a few uneven edges that detracted from the smooth edges I was looking for. So I made my own.

All four of the holes in this are just slightly smaller than 22mm. With the kerf of the laser a 608 bearing snaps in without needing any glue. The picture shows it with a single bearing in the middle but you can easily add three more.

This is two 1/8" pieces of acrylic glued together since that's what I had lying around. If you have 1/4" material you can avoid the gluing. I hit the outside of it with a torch to give it a nice smooth beveled edge (and burnt it in one spot .)

EDIT - I've added a new file that has acrylic posts and grips. The posts are in middle of what was waste material. Cut the 8mm posts from 1/8" acrylic and glue them to the two discs and just press them into both sides of the spinner. They should snap in and stay without any glue.

EDIT - Added the smaller spinner design. This again has a post and some grips.
