I have modified my original Universal Digital Radio Controller (UDRC) case to work seamlessly with the new DRAWS board from NW Digital Radio. The DRAWS HAT integrates perfectly onto a Raspberry Pi, creating the "Digital Radio Amateur Work Station" for Packet Radio, APRS, Fldigi, and other amateur digital radio modes. This file will efficiently cut three cases on a single 12" x 12" sheet of 1/8 inch acrylic. The case assembles securely without the need for screws or glue. Here's how to assemble it: First, put the bottom and two long sides together, then insert the electronics. The top long shoulders go onto the USB end of the case. Next, add the panel on the USB end of the Raspberry Pi. It slides over four hooks and snaps down to lock into place. Then, the top drops down onto the sides and slides under the shoulders into the end panel. Finally, install the micro SD end of the case last. The laser-cut T will flex and snap into two nipples on the end of the top panel. If needed, nudge the accessory port slightly towards the GPS antenna connector, and everything will click together securely. To take it apart, gently flex the T away from the top of the case so that it can slide up, and all the rest of the parts will come free easily. Acrylic is a brittle material. Be sure not to spread the sides away from the case while assembling it, as this "bottle opener" effect can cause a tab to pop off. Even if you break a tab, the case will likely stay together. If you make a mistake, a broken piece can usually be repaired with "Super Glue." To learn more about ham radio, search for my call sign: WB7FHC on YouTube for engaging Ham Radio videos.
