Laser Cut Desiccant container R2 (screwless)
thingiverse
This is a cutting-edge upgrade to the traditional Laser Cut and 3D printed desiccant container found at Thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3932207). Instead of relying on hardware, this innovative design uses elastic clips (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:53032) to keep it together. One major advantage over its screw-driven counterpart is that this model can potentially be used in a microwave oven to refill or dry silica gel packets without having to remove the packets first. However, I must stress that I have not tested microwaving this design, so use it at your own risk! To assemble and utilize this container: 1. Laser cut Top, Bottom, 2x Long Sides, and 2x Short Sides from 1/8" (3mm) acrylic. This will work with acrylic up to 3.1 in thickness. 2. Remove masking tape carefully 3. Assemble the enclosure by carefully fitting together the flex/elastic clips. Be cautious not to damage them! - The short side must be installed with the elastic clip facing upwards and two cut-out slots on the bottom - The long Side has to be assembled with protruding (teeth) on top - Attach both long sides to one short side first - Insert the bottom part into the short side's slots - Insert the remaining short side from the other end and clip together 4. Fill the container (with the top cover removed) with fresh silica gel packets 5. Close the top lid carefully
