I designed a laser-cut cooler runner 2 case at the PCC maker space. Assembly requires using 3/4 inch 4-40 nylon hardware; I used counter-sunk heads, but other style heads are acceptable if they're long enough. The materials are 1/8 inch or 3 mm Baltic birch plywood and 1/8 inch or 3 mm acrylic with thin card stock. The shim should be glued to the bottom of layer three so that it aligns with the shape; this will hold the CPLD in place. Any glue is acceptable - super glue, wood glue, etc. Assemble the stack, then screw together, remove the acrylic base plate and use small dabs of superglue spaced about 2 mm from the nuts. Place the superglue midway between each corner and on the span that runs down the center. Note that you'll need to remove the rubber feet on your CPLD before using this case. But don't worry - they're perfect for the new CPLD case, simply stick them onto the bottom of your assembled case. You can also make variations by using all acrylic or all wood materials.
