Based on the Pass the SALT 2019 conference logo. I'm sharing it mostly for its design process in case other people want to create their own conference badges. The badges were made by the Polytech'Lille Fabricarium. Compared to previous year badges, several changes were implemented: A new logo was introduced. Poplar plywood replaced MDF for a more durable finish. Two additional fields were added: affiliation/twitter/nickname and serial. This feature allows attendees to easily sort badges based on entrance ticket serials. Vector etching replaced raster etching for faster production times. Two holes were drilled for two-end lanyards, preventing badges from turning over. Tokens are now directly attached to the badge, eliminating the need for a 3D-printed token that people tend to lose. The outer cut is made in green, ensuring that badges are detached last and avoiding spurious moves during inner holes cutting. An optional language flag was included, showing courtesy to non-French-speaking attendees by prompting them to switch to English. A common template text was used, making it easier to work with and eliminating the need for manual steps after tile cloning.
