Laser Cut Card Stand
thingiverse
I decided to combine laser-cut Christmas trees with a stand that could hold multiple trees and holiday cards. The clue I needed was the fact that my laser-cut trees are made from 1/8" plywood, which is also the thickness of most table saw and track saw blades. So, I cut 3/4" deep grooves in a wide piece of scrap hardwood to support a group of trees in the background and holiday cards in the foreground. For the laser cutting process, I used my Dremel LC40 Laser Cutter to cut through 1/8" Baltic Birch Plywood. I designed and scaled several different sizes of trees to create a background for the holiday cards. Next, I cut rows of grooves every 3/4" with a table saw, planted the trees, displayed the cards, and completed the project in just a few hours. I plan to design a special 3D printable version of this project later and share it online.
