Laser Cut AA Battery Holder
thingiverse
This holder keeps AA batteries on tap, and what's more it can even be chopped up by a laser! I've got one with space for twenty-four AA batteries stuffed inside it. You can nix the middle and upper supports if you want to add even more battery real estate. I gave the DXF files an update after I found out about several issues. First, I included a locator for the roll stop when gluing things together because there just wasn't enough room in between those guides. And another thing - I brought the sides down low so it's easier to yank batteries out of there once they're loose. Lastly, I enlarged those hanging holes on the side slightly so my laser cutter can fit into place without a hitch. You'll find a .zip with the original DXF files right here for your convenience. Update: It seems like nobody took a snapshot of the revamped battery holder just yet but at least one lucky fellow found time to whack it together. Everything goes on smoothly as planned; everything fits where it's supposed to, and that 1/4-inch piece of space under those batteries means they're ready for lifting off. To put this holder to good use, fire up your laser cutter with a sharp sheet of material measuring .125 inches thick. Mine was at .123 - all fit as if by magic! Use an adhesive worthy of its task to bind the whole lot together and get ready for easy removal when it's done the job you set out for.
