LASER Cut 3D filament spool holder
thingiverse
A versatile laser cut filament stand that works seamlessly with most roll sizes. In need of multiple spool holders, I opted not to wait for 3D printing and instead designed these stands which laser cut quickly. The design accommodates 3.5mm material but also functions flawlessly with 3mm acrylic, requiring four 608 bearings. Although I still utilized a 3D printer for the axles and spacers, this was only a 10-minute print. Provided are SVG files for each part along with an all-in-one (AIO) SVG and PDF featuring all parts necessary for one spool holder. The PDF has been successfully used with Universal Laser Systems' software despite its reputation for being subpar. It's essential to note that omitting a spacer may prevent the bearings from moving freely. Below is a sample cutting list for one complete spool holder: For 1 complete spool holder: Bearings: 4x 608 bearing Laser Cut Acrylic 3mm: 2x Main Stand 4x Sub Stand 8x Stand connector with space (if using 3D printed Spacers with bearings) OR 8x Stand connector no spacers (if not using 3D printed Spacers) 3D Printing: 8x Spacer (optional, depends on bearing) 4x Rod (optional, can use 8mm dowel instead) A few drops of superglue secure the laser cut spacer in place. I applied some to the rod as well, although it fits snugly.
