Laser collimator adjusting rig
thingiverse
I was struggling with my laser collimation unit and needed to verify if it's properly "collimated". To do this, I built a compact setup that can be mounted on a tripod. The bearings used are small 623 types secured with M3 screws, but you can also use the rig without them. To calibrate the system, stand as far away from a flat surface as possible and adjust the laser's position in the collimator housing using an Allen key until the laser dot remains stationary when you turn the collimator on the rig. Please be cautious to ensure that no human or animal is in front of the unit during this process to avoid eye damage. I hope this helps someone else who needs it!
