I Built a Robotic Cat Toy Using Unused Stuff I Already Had. The Main Attraction Is the Motorized Laser Pointer Bracket That Tilts and Pan, Giving Cats an Engaging Target to Chase. You Can Also Attach a Cat Toy to the Back of the Bot for Added Fun. The Head and Toy Bracket Are Designed to Be Easily Removed Thanks to Slides. This Robot is Easy to Program With the Accessible Arduino USB Connector Located at the Back. Watch the Video Below to See the Robotic Cat Toy in Action: https://youtu.be/LON8UUGcLsE I Used a Unique Painting Technique Called Marbling to Give the Bot Its Distinctive Look. Here's How I Did It: 1. I Applied a Coat of Car Body Spray Mastic (Soloplast) to Create a Smooth Surface. 2. Next, I Sanded Down the Surface to Get a Better Finish. 3. Then, I Sprayed on a Layer of White Acrylic Paint. 4. Using an EasyMarble Kit, I Created a Marbled Effect on the Paint. 5. Finally, I Applied a Clear Coat to Seal in the Design. Here's What You'll Need to Build Your Own Robotic Cat Toy: * Arduino Uno Board * Adafruit Motor Shield * 2x Mini Servo Motors (Hitec HS-81) * 2x SPDT Mini Power Switches * 2x LEGO Tires (Part #55976, Size 56 x 26 Balloon) * Ball Bearing with a Diameter of 22mm * Battery Holder for 4 AA Batteries (I Didn't Have Any Motors on Hand) You'll Also Need Some Miscellaneous Parts: * 7x M3 Nuts * 2x M3 Washers * 6x M3x10 mm Flat Head Screws * 1x M3x19mm Screw * 10x M2x10 mm Self-Tapping Screws
