Laser buck converter housing for laser adaptation
thingiverse
This box houses a switch and common buck converter (LM2596) to power a common 12V laser. Unless you happen to have the exact switch and buck converter this will not work for you as is--it is rather meant as a concept as to how to power a laser. I highly recommend the Quick Change Tool project to easily switch between printer head and laser. ------------------------------------------------ Yes it is entirely possible to use a 3D printer as a laser engraver. Most all lasers are 12V and an Ender 3/3 Pro is a 24V system with plenty of spare power, so the easiest way to power the laser is with a common buck converter set appropriately. This little box I mounted directly to the power supply with spliced input from the cooling fan. When in laser mode the switch is set to power the laser, and when printing it bypasses the converter/laser relay and powers the cooling fan as before.
