Laser Base

Laser Base

We use some PASCO red and green lasers in our labs and I needed some holders that I could easily clamp to a desk. The bracket I have made is similar to the ones PASCO use I believe their light tables or something but mine do not have the bits needed to be used that way, I just needed something I could screw down and know it's height. Mine uses a #8 screw (~4.5mm diameter) to attach it to a wooden base. This is then clamped to the desk with a c-clamp. I like this method as when the bit of wood falls apart because students over tighten the clamp, I just need to replace it rather than the entire 3D printed base. I have included STL and 3MF files for both square and round versions of the lasers. I also included just two versions with just the round and square part that holds the laser. That way you can check your fit without printing the whole part and then you could scale your part a little if you need to. If your laser base is a bit loose in the holder, you could always just wrap some black electrical tape around it to give it a tighter fit. Print settings I sliced using CURA and printed on an Artillery Sidewinder X1. 3 walls 0.2mm layer height. 15% infill (Doesn't really matter much as it's mostly solid wall). I used PLA. Please give me a like if you decide to use one of my things. It encourages me to share more. Better yet, post a photo of your make. My other things are here: https://www.thingiverse.com/frostyfriday
