Laser AA Battery Mount
thingiverse
This collection of parts is designed to boost the battery life of a handheld laser pointer. The laser pointer itself should measure approximately 10mm in diameter, while the batteries will be about 14mm in diameter. The original CAD files are available for Solidworks 2016. To facilitate communication between the laser's internal components and the batteries, jumper wire leads must be installed. Aluminum foil was used to bridge the batteries and provide a larger contact area for the jumper wires to connect to/from the laser. The battery setup should be arranged so that each battery is connected in series to achieve a collective voltage of 4.5v. Positive ends should be connected to negative ends. The wire attached to the inner spring is positive (+Ve), while the ground will be the metal casing inside the laser pointer. Connections can be made with tape, glue, or solder. If possible, print the threads on the central pin using a smaller layer height and variable layers. Increasing vertical resolution will help the nut travel smoothly.
