This bowl was unearthed at Las Varas, a long-abandoned village nestled in the heart of the Middle Jequetepeque Valley in northern Peru. It was part of an intentional offering deliberately buried beneath layers of discarded trash and earth to cover a dwelling before it was left vacant. Archaeologists discovered three bowls, including this one, in the carefully concealed offering.
