Hello MiniFactory Team! The Submission My submission is called the Larinoth Ocarina. It's a hunting horn turned musical instrument, which in the game unleashes music when wielded as a weapon. I thought it would be a clever idea to bring this concept to life by creating an actual playable ocarina from a hunting horn, and now you can see the result. My submission consists of two files, carefully split in half for easy printing purposes. Printing hollow objects with regular 3D printers can be challenging, so I made it simple by dividing my model into two manageable parts. This means that you'll need to assemble the two halves together after they're printed. Hopefully, everyone has access to glue for this task. Due to the inherent nature of 3D printing, some prints might turn out a bit inconsistent, which could affect how well the ocarina works. To ensure that your ocarina produces sound, it's essential to precisely cut the fipple hole, which controls airflow through the blowhole. If you print it and still encounter issues with producing sound, try sharpening the bottom part of the fipple hole under the blowhole for optimal results. Optimal Print Settings The Larinoth Ocarina will function best at a scale of 0.6 to 0.8, depending on how detailed your printer is. Higher detail levels result in better performance (due to the importance of precision with the fipple hole). You can print it at full size, but be aware that it might be slightly too large for comfortable handling. Printing with support is also recommended because there are overhanging parts that require printing. I've been experimenting with ColorFabb XT filament during my testing process, but I haven't had a chance to explore different materials yet.
