Larger Cellphone Stand

I purchased a cellphone stand designed specifically for larger phones like my Alcatel Mega, which boasts an impressive 6" screen size. This particular model allows my phone to stand upright in its cradle and even lay flat on one side while recharging - a convenient feature indeed! In addition to providing a stable platform, the cradle also offers a small storage compartment at the rear. Frustrated with constantly reaching for my phone every time an email or text message pops up, I decided to create a solution that would keep it within easy reach. After designing the stand using computer-aided manufacturing software, I set out to bring it to life using 3D printing technology. The print job was accomplished on a MakerBot Replicator 2 using high-temperature ABS plastic at 230 degrees Celsius. The object required 10% infill for added stiffness and a raft for better adhesion to the build plate. After printing, I removed any support material from around the cradle with a small pocket knife.
