Large spool to small spool sewing machine solution
thingiverse
On my Bernina sewing machine, I needed to attach a large spool from a serger to the bobbin spool. The best method is to secure the big spool on the table plane and pull off the wire upwards. A helpful component can be placed at the position of your regular spool using this two-part 3D printed part. Print Settings Printer: Prusa i3 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.15 mm Notes: I printed one piece with supports everywhere, and another with just a brim. Both work well. Finishing the overhanging parts is better when using support everywhere. You can print the smaller part first to check if it fits your spool holder diameter. Print all pieces with their largest diameter on the bottom side naturally! Post-Printing Click the two pieces together. Bend a wire into the shape shown in the picture. Bending around the spool holder provides a good basic shape. Insert the wire into the printed part. You can optionally glue it in place using a hot melt glue gun, which works fine for that.
