I wanted a slightly bigger 3D-printed ball bearing to use in a demonstration, but the one I had on hand wasn't large enough. The small ball bearing needed for my project has a rather large 0.3 millimeter gap between its parts and the custom supports that were designed specifically for it. To print the slightly larger ball bearing, I used ABS plastic with a layer height of just 0.15 millimeters. As an added benefit, the design is made so that the custom support can simply be removed after printing, without any need to carefully scrape away at them. For reference, you can check out this short video from Creative Tools to see the slightly larger ball bearing being printed: http://youtu.be/nqusY3M5Lso?list=UUGWmj8zbYmQFBZxZvGzR_Bw
