LARGE pop-up sprinkler 1-1/4" SCH 40 PVC in (Sump pump discharge)
thingiverse
UPDATE: Added another piston and matching cap labeled as hi-flow. Noticed that the original design's sump would take longer than expected to empty, so I opened the piston internals and created another cap for faster water movement. Experiencing issues with discharge from my sump pump eroding soil where it discharged. Since no pop-up sprinklers were available for this large application, I designed one myself. This setup is tailored for 1-1/4" SCH 40 PVC pipe inlets (1.660" Dia.), not garden sprinkler size lines. Note: This inlet is slightly oversized due to potential cracking issues with forced-together 3D printed parts. Adding a little PVC cement ensures a secure fit. Primarily designed for higher volume, lower pressure applications, I suggest printing this design from ABS or another water-resistant plastic that won't absorb moisture like PLA tends to. To ensure the piston cap's strength, I ran the body and piston cap at 20% infill, while the piston and threaded cap were printed at 15% infill. This should prevent cracking under the lawn tractor's weight. Will try to capture some action shots when I'm out and about during a run cycle. Currently, my pump is producing an approximately 8' diameter water circle. Please note that this design is quite large; you'll need a printer with at least an 8" (220mm) cubed envelope to print it in one shot.
