This is a large format 3d printer project I started summer of 2020. The main goals for this machine were: - Low cost - Space efficient (compared to other large format machines) - Large build volume - Consistent print quality for large layer heights This is the resulting design. The parts for this machine cost about 450$ is total. It uses a stationary bed system similar to CNC movement in order to save space and make movements more accurate and efficient. Its quite large and uses aluminum extrusion in order to keep the frame rigid. Lastly it uses a combination of linear motion methods in order to achieve high print quality. If you are interested in building this machine please feel free to contact me. And if you have any feedback about the design whatsoever I am happy to implement changes, as I will be releasing new design iterations/upgrades. If you would like to be able to print large objects affordably then this this the way to go.
