Large container + Top
pinshape
This substantial container, standing at an impressive 185 mm in height, boasts a unique configuration of seven sides and incorporates a sophisticated compound curve to define its shape. The lid fits snugly into place due to the precisely matching ridge and groove located on both the top and bottom surfaces. Achieving optimal results, the top component was printed using a layer thickness of 0.200 mm, requiring approximately eight hours to complete, while the corresponding bottom section took around 33.5 hours to print with the same layer height. The bottom surface features an innovative waffle design that not only conserves filament but also facilitates effortless removal from the print bed and helps mitigate warping issues. Regrettably, a single row of waffle patterns is absent, a consequence of a peculiarity in the design software utilized (Grasshopper + Rhino), which I ultimately abandoned after attempting to resolve. A close-up examination reveals that the top was printed without supports, and as evident from the inside, it turned out successfully. However, another printer might necessitate the use of supports for optimal results.
