Large carrying handle for Monoprice Select Mini
cults3d
I designed and printed out the Monoprice Mini Select carrying handle and was pleased with it, but felt that its narrowness was limiting, and wondered if two little M3 screws were enough to support it securely. Probably sufficient, but I decided to take a different approach and make the handle wider and use more screws. This thought led me to create this design. I'm not a professional designer, so don't expect perfection - but it's functional and feels solid in my hand. It's intended to be easy to print without requiring any supports, although as you can see from my photos, my printer struggled with the bridging. I considered removing the center flat portion as it doesn't significantly contribute to the part's strength, but decided against it. The Fusion360 files are included so you can create your own version that's not quite so unattractive. If you decide to modify this design, post it as a remix and I'd love to see what you've come up with! Three of the stock M3 screws worked perfectly on my v2 printer, while only the two underneath the handle needed to be replaced - I used M3x12 for those two. A socket head hex cap screw would be ideal, but I managed just fine using a #2 Phillips screwdriver with a long shaft at an angle. The other screws can be accessed from above without any issues.
