Large Binocular Finder Mount
thingiverse
I required a holder for my substantial, 25 x 100, Celestron astronomical binoculars. Unable to find a suitable commercially available solution, I created this part to accommodate a low-cost red dot finder from an old Meade telescope. The finder slides into a dovetail and the bracket then clicks down over the center rod (16 mm dia as I believe), glides back and clicks over the upright that would connect to your tripod or mount (25 mm dia as I believe). I posted my personal iteration in case someone had the same parts on hand. I also included a blank version in case you wanted to bolt a shoe for other finders or if you wished to alter it to meet your needs. I included an .STP file of the blank mount so you can import and modify to suit your needs in most CAD programs. If someone wants an alteration to fit a specific finder, comment with the dimensions required and I might be able to modify it and post it also.
