Large Aquarium sponge filter

Large Aquarium sponge filter

I needed a bigger sponge filter that packs a punch, but I couldn't find one that met my standards. So, I designed this behemoth myself. And let me tell you, the flow is absolutely stunning! Here are the details: 1. Take a look at the pictures to determine which size of sponge works best for you. 2. This design is meant to be used with two suction cups, which should be 25mm in diameter and have 3.2mm holes (a picture is included for reference). 3. Use a regular air hose that comes with most aquarium air pumps - anything between 4/6mm will do. This was printed on my trusty Prusa MK3S. If you think you need a raft, go ahead and add one, but I didn't bother and it still turned out great. Supports: be sure to only touch the build plate (this is crucial for getting the flat tube and suction cup connector pieces to print properly). Layer height: 0.2mm. Infill: make sure it's 100% or it will probably float. It took me around seven hours to get this printed. Check out the video of the flow here -> https://youtu.be/x23OA--OLZI and the timelapse of the build process here -> https://youtu.be/53XXOEvgoG0.
