Laputa Robot - Mechanical Music box

Hi everyone, I'm a huge fan of the Japan animation "Castle in the Sky" or "Laputa". The theme song, robot and glider really stand out to me. By chance, I got my hands on a Sankyo Laputa music unit and created this robot for all the fans out there who love this movie. You can also check out the music unit below. https://youtu.be/YKsF5OwCUi8 https://youtu.be/bH8VDT2pTqc https://youtu.be/-rCQcfcLpwU The robot is powered by the Sankyo unit and has two modes of rotation: you can either rotate just the head or have the glider spinning around. To achieve this, you'll need to place a stand-inner over the nut. There are also two speeds available with different sets of gears: low speed for the head alone and high speed if you're using the glider to turn the head. Here's what you'll need to build the robot: - M6x50mm screw x1 - M6 Nut x1 - Sankyo Laputa music unit x1 - Dia2x10mm shaft x4 - (And of course, all the printed parts) To curve the wings of the glider, follow these steps: 1. Print out the forming tools. 2. Follow the diagrams carefully. 3. Trap the wing in the tools. 4. Dip it in 70 degree Celsius hot water for a few seconds. 5. Close the tools until the wing softens. 6. Cool it down in cold water and you're done!
