Laputa Gardens
thingiverse
I've taken the original model and scaled it up 150%. The diameter is now 22 inches. I've designed a network of pipe-cleaners that will act as a self-watering/self-draining pipe into a bowl located in the plant hanger, utilizing capillary action and gravity - it's purely theoretical, but I'm confident it will work. Additionally, I've provided files for mounting light fixtures with a 1/2" NPT thread fitting. This project is likely to take a month to print and cost around $100 in filament. It requires a significant commitment of time and resources. I've also included my working SolidWorks files; note that I had to rework the outer ring parts. **Print Settings:** * Printer Brand: RepRap * Printer Model: Pursa Mendel * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: .15/.2/.3 (any works, and I experimented with various settings during printing) * Infill: 17% (feel free to reduce it further if you can) **Notes:** * No supports are needed. I used PLA for the print. * Post-Printing: Assembly Note: The holes are designed for screws. To thread them for PLA, simply chamfer the hole with a large bit (by hand), then heat up the screw until it's hot but not scorching hot - slowly screw it in while applying pressure. If necessary, hammer it into place. To view the assembly steps, refer to the original project that this remix is based on.
