I built a stand for my HP Elitebook 2740p because it kept shutting down due to overheating on its original surface. To address this issue, I crafted a stand that features a gentle slant perfect for my wrists and leaves ample space around the laptop's vents at the bottom to ensure good airflow. Please check out the photos - since I needed a keyboard to pair with my monitor, I set up like this until I got a wireless keyboard.
