When a laptop sits flat on a solid surface, it tends to heat up quickly due to blocked airflow from the bottom vents. Unless the fan kicks in during demanding gaming sessions, temperatures can soar out of control. Determined to solve this problem, I browsed various support designs online and tried them out personally. Most were functional but came with a catch - they were too bulky or didn't fit properly on my laptop. Since most off-the-shelf solutions weren't up to par, I decided to create my own based on elements that worked well from the designs I researched, combined with some of my own innovative touches. My goal was to craft a laptop support foot that provided precise clearance without compromising stability or appearance. Given this requirement, I incorporated specific dimensions and openings for each model - the 12mm, 13mm, and 15mm Laptop Lift Foot variations - all designed to provide consistent lift. Each of these designs aims to boost airflow from the bottom by around 15-17mm when used correctly, although the opening / mouth size at the base differs depending on which version you select. Since my personal laptop has a maximum thickness of approximately 13mm, I decided to incorporate this specific size into the original clamp design for enhanced security and stability during daily usage or while relocating it.
