Very niche use, but I needed to make a retainer for my new SSD when I installed it in my laptop. This wedges between the drive enclosure and the drive itself to keep it secure. Laptop used was an MSI Dominator GT70 2QD, though I'd imagine many drive enclosures are designed similarly.
