Lapras Case Rebuild

Lapras Case Rebuild

This is a rebuild of the Lapras Case by PhoenixLuk based on the brilliant Lapras model by alex23qw. I found the original case to be a fantastic concept, but unfortunately, the hinge proved to be a challenging print and didn't quite live up to expectations. To overcome this issue, I made several key improvements in this updated design, ensuring that both parts can be printed with fewer supports. • The hinge pins are now located on the body rather than the shell, allowing both components to be printed without as many support structures. • A small "hinge lock" has been added, which is inserted between the two hinge pins once the shell is attached. This provides a snug pressure fit that keeps the shell securely in place when you open it. The revised design also includes some other notable changes: • The body now features a flat bottom, enabling it to sit stably on a tabletop. • The shell can be opened more than 90 degrees for easy access to the interior. • Internal overhangs have been flattened out, allowing them to be printed without support structures.
