The archaeological site Lapa do Boquête is situated in the Peruaçu Caverns National Park, Januária municipality, MG. The UFMG Archeology Department researched it between 1981 and 1998. Radiocarbon dating revealed human occupations approximately 12,000 years ago. Six burials dating back around 7,000 years were discovered. Archaeologists also found lithic material and dwelling structures. The site contains rock art panels with geometric patterns, zoomorphs, and anthropomorphs.
