Lap Desk

This is a lap desk. It's purpose is to allow students to have a small, portable desk that they can set anythwere, whether it's the floor or it's their bed. It provides a good workspace to help make their online learning experience more comfortable and easy. When I was making this, I tried to add hinges to the legs to allow them to fold in. However, the hinges were to small, and they kept breaking. If I were to change something, I would work harder at getting the hinges to work. On my current design, I decided to take the hinges off because, although it would be cool, it was not necessary. If I make the hinges larger and place them correctly on the desk, then I think through enough trial and error I would be able to get it to work. 3D printing helps in my design because I can try mulitple times to print something. It is relatively quick, easy, and cheap to print on a 3d printer verses going to a shop everytime and trying to communicate to them my design. I understand how to use the basics of 3d printers, so it is easy for me make the design exactly how I would like it wihtout trying to create drawings to communicate to a shopsman.
