Lansky Sharpening System hone box
thingiverse
Since the box of the Lansky Sharpening System only stores five hones, I needed a way to store my additional hones. This simple storage solution will hold an extra five hones. I added some extra space in front of the hones, so they can be easily removed from the box by lifting them by their screws. Two lid designs are included: one version with the Lansky logo and one without. The logo version of the lid is pictured with the optional backplate (the file for this is also included). Update: I added a smaller backplate for the logo, which should save some print time when not printing the lid with transparent filament. The box and lid require six 5mm x 3mm neodymium magnets each, totaling twelve 5mm x 3mm magnets. Alternatively, using two times four magnets (for a total of eight) will also work just as well. I designed the holes for the magnets to be press-fitted, but it requires quite a bit of force or body weight to do so. Depending on material shrinkage, consider scaling up the box and lid by around 1% to glue the magnets in. To print this design, use the following settings: layer height at 0.15mm, infill at 20% or higher, wall thickness at 1mm, and no supports are needed.
