Langleeford (May 2006)
sketchfab
Granite boulder unearthed in a cairn field near Housey Crags, just north of Langleeford, approximately four miles southwest of Wooler in Northumberland. This site is documented on the Beckensall Archive (BA) as "Langleeford," where it's described as featuring two cups. The NADRAP Team 3 recorded this stone in 2006, noting its characteristics: There are two distinct cups, likely created artificially but rough-hewn due to the granite composition, situated in the middle of the upper surface. Each cup measures approximately 0.04 meters and 0.05 meters in diameter, positioned close together. A potential arc is visible on one of the cups; however, the stone's nature makes it challenging to confirm. ERA & BA information can be accessed at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=1064. This model was generated from five stereo pairs captured by Joe Gibson of NADRAP Team 3 in February 2006. The images form part of the comprehensive NADRAP archive, which has been deposited with Historic England and Northumberland County Council.
