Landing Skids
thingiverse
This landing skid system is tailored for Mini Flame Wheel Style Quadcopter Frames. You can either hot glue or bolt it onto the arm bolts. My photos showcase hot gluing as my bolts were insufficient in length, but it's designed to be bolted on. I employed a 3/16" wooden dowel for the skids, and the legs display good flexibility while appearing robust. For printing instructions, utilize PLA, with a 25% fill and 2 shells. Opt for wood dowels as landing skids and secure them to the skids using super glue. You can either bolt on the skid arms or hot glue them in place; this design was inspired by Crossfire Quad skids. A drop test demonstrated that a loaded Quadcopter, hot-glued, could withstand falls from 1-2 feet without requiring re-gluing. Bolted attachment remains untested due to insufficiently long bolts for securing the skids.
